About the opportunity We are seeking a friendly, organised and compassionate Community Participation Assistant to join our Support at Home team. Working closely with the Community Participation Coordinator, you will provide practical day-to-day support to ensure community participation programs, group activities and outings are delivered safely, efficiently and in a way that enhances the wellbeing and social connection of our clients. This rewarding role is ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with older people, coordinating activities and supporting clients to remain active, connected and involved in their community. Key responsibilities include: - Assisting with the setup and pack down of activity rooms, venues and equipment
- Supporting the delivery of group activities, outings and community programs
- Greeting and assisting clients to participate safely and comfortably in activities
- Coordinating attendance lists, bookings and transport arrangements
- Assisting with client communications, activity reminders and follow-up calls
- Maintaining activity records, attendance documentation and program materials
- Monitoring supplies and equipment required for activities
- Supporting the collection of client co-contributions
- Escalating client concerns, feedback or changes in condition to the Community Participation Coordinator
- Promoting a positive, welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants
About You You are passionate about supporting older people to live healthy, engaged and fulfilled lives. You are organised, approachable and enjoy building positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues.
You have strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high standard of customer service and care. To be considered for this role, you will have: - Qualification in Community Services, Human Services, Health or a related field
- Current First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain
- Current Driver's Licence
- Access to a registered and roadworthy vehicle
- Knowledge of aged care legislation, standards and community programs
- Demonstrated experience supporting older people within aged care, community care or health services
- Strong administration, coordination and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
You must also be willing to obtain a National Police Certificate before commencing employment as well as a functional assessment.
