About the Opportunity The Senior Financial Accountant plays a critical role in managing the financial reporting, accounting processes, and compliance at Alwyndor. This position requires advanced expertise in financial accounting principles, a strong analytical mindset, and the ability to lead and mentor accounting staff reporting to the position. The Senior Financial Accountant will contribute to the development of financial strategies, improve financial processes, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Responsibilities include: - Oversee day-to-day accounting operations
- Month end reporting and reconciliations
- Assist with preparation of Financial Statements
- Assist with the internal and external audit process
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Assist in the management of cash-flow and investments of funds adequately
- Responsible for precise reconciliation, month-end accruals, journal entry preparation, and ledger recording
- Review payroll processes for accuracy and compliance
- Lead and develop your team, fostering a culture of high performance, professional growth, and continuous learning.
Required Skill and Attributes: - 2+ years in a senior financial accounting position.
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting or finance
- CA/CPA qualification or studying towards is desirable
- Proficient in the use of Excel
- Proven ability to think and act strategically and set realistic goals and plans which improve services.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and present findings clearly.
- Financial accounting experience including budgeting and performance analysis;
- Excellent work ethic, energy, passion and commitment;
- Experience in Aged Care or Not For Profit will be highly regarded
